Chirag Jhala

My name is Dr. Chirag Jhala and I hold a doctorate in the field of atomic-molecular physics from University of Kassel, Germany. A summary of my education and experience is mentioned below.

Simultaneous involvement in the field of academics and research at an early phase of my life gave me a unique opportunity. Teaching strengthened and improved the knowledge I had about the subject while it improved my communication, presentation and student mentoring skills. Active participation in the field of research helped me sharpen the mathematical, analytical, and computational skills. This two-year stint as a lecturer and researcher had taught me to work under pressure and to meet deadlines with precision. I started my doctoral studies at the Max-Planck Institute for Nuclear Physics in Heidelberg in the year 2006 and successfully defended my doctoral thesis, at University of Kassel, in December 2011. As a PhD student, I have published my research work in the international journals and presented the same at numerous conferences worldwide.

After completing my doctoral studies, I returned to India in January 2012. Soon after that, I accepted the position of subject coordinator at the Galaxy School in the city of Rajkot (India). The school offers curricula designed by the Cambridge International Education (CIE), and International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO). My primary role is to train students for IGCSE, As/A level, and IBDP HL/SL physics exams. Besides teaching, I am a registered examiner for IB HL Paper-3 and internal assessment (IA), participate and supervise sports activities. 

My journey, from being a student to an academician, has been full of changes and challenges. This constant change has tought me a valuable lesson, that is, when there is a change: adopt it, adapt to it, and be adept at it.
